Auger Resources was founded in Irvine, California by Jaime
Sue and Chris Ashton early in 2005. Auger was started because they love modding
cars and either couldn't find the products they wanted, or find them at a
high enough quality level.
Jaime has been sewing for as long as she can remember. At
age fourteen she was already making her own clothes. Soon after, she discovered
that her sewing skills could also be used for things like upholstery. She
tends to approach making a new shift boot like fitting clothes to an individual
person. She doesn't just duplicate a factory pattern, she uses it as a base
to start from and then adjusts the pattern until she's happy with the fit.
It's a real art form.
Chris is a total car nut like his father, and his father's
father. He's been there and back again with car mods and tends to help out
with the mechanical side of things.
Both Jaime and Chris have art school backgrounds, so they
work together as a visual art team.
Auger Resources uses only synthetic materials, and ships items
in unbleached, recyclable packaging. All supplies are purchased from other merchants
within the USA.
Donations to Charity
We are a proud, monthly supporter of the Roar
Foundation, a big cat reserve in Southern California.
Recently we were also blown away by the "Long
Way Round" and "Long Way
Down" DVD's documenting Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's motorcycle
journeys around the world. Particularly amazing is the huge role that Unicef
is playing in supporting children in need across the globe. So we made a large
(for us) donation there as well and hope to do more in the future.
